REVIEW: Alabama Shakes @ The Pageant - Saint Louis, MO. - 10/09/12

It did not take long to change out any equipment or mess with the usual large stage production that comes with a show at
The Pageant before Southern rockers the Alabama Shakes took the stage on Tuesday night for their first real national headline tour to hit Saint Louis.  There was no light show, there were no props, there was no special backdrop, and there were no gimmicks. This show and this night was about one thing, the music.  And that is what it has always been about for this band during their rise from critically acclaimed buzz band to budding stars over the last year.  The journey of the Alabama Shakes is clearly evidenced by their stop at the Old Rock House in December of 2011 to current day where they played to a sold-out capacity crowd at Delmar's renowned live music venue.  For my full review of the entire show head on over to insideSTL.com music section and you can check it out HERE.  And you can see all of my photos I shot of the show over on my Facebook music blog fan page HERE.  With no barricade at this Alabama Shakes show, I had to fight the fans and post up in one spot amongst the sold-out capacity crowd. So I chose to highlight the star of the show, Brittany Howard. If you can't get enough of this rising soul queen, this album is for you. 25 photos, all Ms. Howard.
