Every month I will reveal a top 10 list of what songs are currently getting heavy rotation on my iPod for one reason or another. Here is the list for June 2012.
On The Bubble: The Darkness - "Every Inch Of You", "Everybody Have A Good Time"
10. The Walkmen - "Heaven"
10. The Walkmen - "Heaven"
9. King Tuff - "Bad Thing"
8. The Hives - "1000 Answers"
7. Big Gigantic - "The Uprising"
6. Greek Fire - "If This Is the End (the Sound of Belief)"
5. Smashing Pumpkins - "Quasar", "The Chimera"
4. Metric - "Youth Without Youth"
3. The Gaslight Anthem - "45"
2. Passion Pit - "Take A Walk"
1. Japandroids - "Fire's Highway"
If you have not given the 'Japandroids' sophomore album Celebration Rock a spin yet then you are missing out. The Canadian rock duo consisting of Brian King (guitar/vocals) and David Prowse (drums/vocals), produce a giant sound you would think was coming from a four or five-man band. The album is like a Red Bull and vodka chased with a Five-Hour Energy shot. Front to back, it's a roller-coaster ride of some of the best energetic rock I have heard so far in 2012. If you like a garage friendly head-banging sound of scorching guitar riffs and foot-stomping drums, this album is for you. I can't wait to see this band live!
